Funny Descriptions of Fate Grand Order Servants
Let's hope everyone has some salt shakers ready because there's about to be a bit of salt added with your memes. Fate/Grand Order has turned the Fate property into a multimillion-dollar franchise. The modest visual novel that started in 2004 now a mobile game juggernaut known the world over.
Still, while it may be the latest and greatest Fate game on the market, it is not immune to being memed to death. Whether it be because of the absurdly low summoning rates, the general strategies for gameplay, or the game's personal history, the fans are more than willing to jump into their favorite picture editing software to make fun of it. Some of the best collected here.
10 Sasaki Kojiro The Savior Of France
Let's start with one of the oldest. A long time ago when Fate/GO first launched in Japan, players often didn't have enough resources to summon a good Assassin Servant right off the bat. Leaving them at the mercy of the wyverns in the France Singularity. Which sent them towards budget options instead. Enter Sasaki Kojirō.
A single star servant, he was more than easy to summon once in the less expensive Friend Gacha and only provided a bit more trouble to summon four more times to strengthen his Noble Phantasm fully. Better yet, he was a surprisingly strong Assassin Servant that did double damage to wyverns because of the game's strengths and weaknesses system. Which made him perfect to take out all of those pesky wyverns in France. A process that was later repeated in the Western release of the game.
9 "Cheating" With Jeanne
Fate/Grand Order tends to play it fast and loose with their representations of history's greatest heroes. But boy, did they get Jeanne's upstanding morality right.
The Maid of Orlean's a good girl to her core and this fun in-character meme shows just that. Even with a morally loose Alter of a younger sister, she'll still try to steer her to the right path. Even if she has to trick her to do it.
8 BB's Weakness
BB is a powerful Servant in canon. In the game though, she has a very obvious weakness. It was briefly mentioned before, but the game runs on a system of checks and balances that gives a strength and a weakness to most Servants against certain other Servants. For BB, her weakness is Rulers.
So often the best strategy to dealing with her is to just overwhelm her with any Ruler Servants someone has picked up during their gameplay. Characters like Summer Martha, Jeanne D'arc, and Amakusa Shiro more than enough for the cyber demon.
7 Guide To Seiba
It is no secret to fans that Fate/Grand Order has a Saber problem. No there is nothing wrong with her skills. There is nothing wrong with her art. And she is definitely not missing from the roster. There is just too damn many of her.
As of right now, there are more than eleven different versions of her and that's now even counting all of the people that share her same face but aren't actually her. She has so many versions that she could fill up the cast of a Grail War almost by herself. So that's exactly why this handy dandy guide to (almost) all of the Saberfaces, featuring Riyo's art, is needed.
6 Biggest Complaint
This is by far the biggest complaint of the game. Not only is it hard to get certain Servants but building them up to their strongest levels often takes a lot of busywork.
The chance to summon a five star Servant on a given banner where they are the only rate-up is 0.7 (now 0.8 in Japan). Meaning it can take an overabundance of Saints Quartz to summon a particular character. Then after that particular piece of hell, another hell begins... the grinding. Some servants take hundreds of material to fully mature. Worse yet, if someone wants a character's Noble Phantasm at its highest level they have to summon the same Servant a whole five times.
5 Deepest Desire
This is the direct result of the above. Like an old fisherman, almost every Master in Fate/GO has a story of the one that got away. With an abysmally low chance to summon particular Servants a Master can use hundreds and thousands of Saint Quartz and still not get the character they want. Often ending the summoning session jaded and heartbroken.
Only the biggest of whales have gotten everything they have wanted. So don't be surprised if a Fate/GO player suddenly bursts out into tears if someone asks them about a particular popular Servant.
4 Me And Also Me
Fate/GO is almost completely run on the temptation of the Gacha. Even with the low Gacha rates, fans can't help but try their luck to get the coveted four-star and five-star Servants. Sometimes to the detriment of getting other characters they want down the line.
Like any gambler, there's always a voice behind their heads that tells them that one more spin will turn their luck around. More often than not, that voice is a damn liar.
3 Never Dead Lancer
Sometimes Servants don't exactly work the same way they did in other adaptations. Case and point, Ireland's child of light, Cú Chulainn. It is basically a joke that Lancer dies all the time. Despite apparently having the highest survivability rate of all of the 5th Grail War's Servants, he dies in every single route.
On the other hand, Fate/GO made him hard to take down. The Hound of Ulster is more like a cockroach with a built-in Guts, Evade, debuff removal, and even a heal in his kit. Giving him the ability to just keep coming back from the brink of death almost every time if done right.
2 The Height of Stupidity
Someone get this Knight of Betrayal some ointment. That was one hell of a burn.
Artoria and Mordred do not have the best of relationships when it comes to father and son (long story). They are both too prideful to come to an understanding and come with more baggage than your local transcontinental flight. So a snipe like this wouldn't be too far off from their usual father and son banter.
1 Are You Winning, Pharoah?
Let's end things up with some fresh memes. After 3 years, team Desert Beauty finally managed to win a segment of the second summer event. The duo having avoided victory over several years and several servers of Fate/GO.
But finally, it happened. After the US server pulled together to give them a victory, they finally earned their victory quotes!
